As of January 21, 2021, Wake County Criminal Court is open. If you have had a court date anytime between December 14, 2020, and now, you might have received a notice in the mail with a new court date. If you did not, you can check to see if your court date has been rescheduled here. Type your last name followed by a comma and then your first initial/name to check. Do not put a space between the comma and your first name.
If you have retained or been appointed an attorney on your matter, you might not have to come to court depending on what type of case you have. Contact your attorney for more information if you haven’t heard from them.
Mandatory mask-wearing and temperature checks are still in effect in Wake County for everyone’s safety, even if you have been vaccinated. If you are immunocompromised or simply not comfortable coming to court during the pandemic, you may be able to hire an attorney who can appear for you.
If you have a no-contact or domestic violence protection order case pending in Courtroom 5A, you may be able to appear via WebEx rather than attending court. Your attorney can advise which is best.
